About The Event

Launching Saturday 4th January through to Sunday 19th January 2020, showcasing cinematic blockbusters and much loved favourites across an array of genres.

This family movie event has everything you need for a great night out with friends and family. Presented by smoothfm 95.3, Outdoor Cinema at Sydney Olympic Park, located in Cathy Freeman Park, will be a must do activity for the whole family to enjoy for summer 2020. Offering a licensed bar, delicious food and a dedicated kid play zone.

With 4 dedicated seating areas:

FREE General Admission we told you we would take all the best bits, allowing guests to bring their own picnic blanket and find a spot on the lawn. Note all guests are required to register for their free tickets
Premium General Admission offering premium viewing directly in front of the screen with optional beanbag hire plus a free movie snack to enjoy!
Couch Class, offering premium viewing from your own family couch! Seats up to 4 guests and includes a dedicated butler service
Plus, VIP Tents for the ultimate outdoor cinema experience from your very own glamping tent! Seats up to 8 adults, complete with a day bed, beanbags, lanterns and more including a cutler catering to your every need

Gates will open from 6pm Wednesday through Sunday, we encourage you to arrive early, grab a bite and a few cheeky beverages, sit back, relax and enjoy an afternoon of pre-film fun before the sun goes down and the movies begin from 8pm.

Do you offer a reduced ticket price for carers?
Carers of ticket holders with disabilities will be granted free entry upon producing valid carer ID.
What is the refund policy?
By purchasing a ticket to Outdoor Cinema at Sydney Olympic Park, all patrons acknowledge that they are purchasing tickets to attend an outdoor event, and that scheduled screenings will proceed in what some patrons may consider to be unfavourable / uncomfortable weather conditions, such as intermittent rain. In purchasing a ticket, patrons acknowledge that refunds will not be issued in the case of non-attendance of, or early departure from, a screening which proceeds under unfavourable weather conditions. If a screening is cancelled by management, tickets for that session will automatically be converted to vouchers which can be used to book a new session. Refund will be offered where a voucher cannot be redeemed to all remaining sessions being booked out.
How will I know if my session is cancelled?
Notice of cancelled sessions will be broadcast via email and our social media channels.
What if my family has more than 4 children?
Family tickets allow entry for 2 adults and up to 4 children. Families with more than 4 children will need to purchase a children’s ticket for each additional child.
From what age are children classified as minors, and do minors need a ticket?
Children age 2 and under are classified as minors and do not require a ticket.
When are children not permitted?
Children and teenagers may attend any film, however those under the age of 15 must be accompanied by an adult for films rated M or MA 15+.

What if it rains?
By purchasing a ticket to Outdoor Cinema at Sydney Olympic Park, all patrons acknowledge that Outdoor Cinema at Sydney Olympic Park is an outdoor event, and that scheduled screenings will proceed in what some patrons may consider to be unfavourable / uncomfortable weather conditions, such as intermittent rain. In purchasing a ticket, patrons acknowledge that refunds will not be issued in the case of non-attendance of, or early departure from, a screening which proceeds under wet weather conditions. Screenings will be cancelled however where the weather conditions pose a risk to the safety of our patrons. If a screening is cancelled by management, tickets for that session will automatically be converted to vouchers which can be used to book a new session on a different date. Refunds will only be offered where a voucher cannot be redeemed to all remaining sessions being booked out.

What time do gates open?
Gates open 6:00pm for each screening
What time does the film start?
Screening of films will commence sometime between 8pm-8:20pm, pending suitable lighting conditions
Do I need to bring a printed copy of my ticket or can I display it on my smart phone?
You may bring either a printed or electronic copy of your ticket.
Both are able to be scanned at the point of entry to the venue.
Can I bring my own food?
An extensive range of delicious food and candy bar snacks is on offer at Outdoor Cinema at Sydney Olympic Park. Whilst we allow small snack items including cheese boards, chocolates / lollies and chips, commercial hot food will not be allowed into the venue, this includes: pizzas, burgers, fries etc.
Can I bring my own alcohol?
Outdoor Cinema at Sydney Olympic Park is a fully licensed venue and is therefore strictly no BYO alcohol. Bag checks will be conducted at point of entry to ensure compliance with this venue policy.

How do I get there?
Outdoor Cinema is located in Cathy Freeman Park on Olympic Boulevard in Sydney Olympic Park.
By Public Transport: Olympic Park train station is a 5-minute walk away. Buses from Parramatta and Strathfield stop in the Park. BRIDJ bus service is also a convenient and easy to use service stopping at Sydney Olympic Park. Download the BRIDJ app to book a seat.

By Car: Parking is available in the Park with the closest parking lot located at P6 on Australia Ave. Please be aware parking may be limited when major events are taking place. We highly recommend to pre-book parking the day before to secure your car spot on these particular days.
How do the seating arrangements work?

FREE GENERAL ADMISSION: seating for FREE general admission ticket holders is unreserved and runs on a first-come, first-serve basis. To redeem a free general admission ticket guests must pre-register online or at the ticket box on entry to the outdoor cinema. It is highly recommended that you pre-register online to avoid ques. Free General Admission ticket holders are welcome to bring their own rug / picnic blanket or bean bag. Alternatively bean bags can be hired at the venue. Free General Admission ticket holders may also bring their own collapsible (single) low lying chairs, however, will be requested to sit towards the rear of the seating area so as not to obstruct other patrons’ view of the screen.
PREMIUM GENERAL ADMISSION: seating for Premium General Admission ticket holders is reserved in the dedicated premium GA area located directly in front of the screen. General Admission ticket holders are welcome to bring their own rug / picnic blanket or bean bag. Alternatively bean bags can be hired at the venue or pre-booked online when purchasing tickets. Those with Premium General Admission tickets are welcome to bring their own collapsible (single) low lying chairs.
COUCH CLASS: COUCH CLASS is reserved. Couches are allocated at time of purchase. Couch Class tickets are premium seats directly in front of the screen on your own private couch. Arriving early is NOT essential with these tickets as your seat is reserved and cannot be taken.
VIP TENTS: VIP TENTS is reserved. Tents are allocated at time of purchase for a VIP TENT ticket. VIP TENT tickets are premium seats in your own tent with beanbags and a day bed. Arriving early is NOT essential with these tickets as your tent is reserved and cannot be taken.
Are pets allowed?
Pets are not allowed into the venue.
Can I smoke?
Smoking is not allowed inside the venue, however patrons are welcome to smoke outside of the venue perimeter.
Can I bring my camera?
Guests may bring cameras to take snapshots with their friends/family, however video recording of any kind within the venue is not allowed.
